Basket weaving is an ancient African craft that is still practiced today by African tribes. The motivation behind the design of our Basket Weave pillow is a tribute to this ancient art. Created with individual variegated ribbons of Shweshwe that are woven together giving the front of the pillow a multi-dimensional feel. These are then sewn onto a base to create the look and feel of an open weave. The weave is framed with Shweshwe then the pillow is finished off with a luxurious Velvet Oxford hem and backing.
